On April 24, as part of the official visit of the Founder of National Peace - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Italy, the Tajik-Italian Investment Forum was held in Rome under the title "Presentation of the Republic of Tajikistan in Italy".

The purpose of this event is to present the capacity and opportunity of investment in the Tajik economy and in this context to expand business and investment cooperation by organizing a free dialogue between entrepreneurs and investors and finding new ways of cooperation in the direction of joint ventures.

The event was attended by more than 100 companies from both sides, leaders and officials of government ministries and agencies, entrepreneurs and investors, and representatives of companies and enterprises from various sectors of the economy of Tajikistan and Italy.

The Tajik-Italian investment forum was opened by the official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, Mauro Batucci.

At the event, the possibility of cooperation between business circles and investors of the two countries in the areas of industry, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, services, information technologies and other priority areas was discussed.

In particular, Tajikistan's investment opportunities and benefits in this area were presented by the Chairman of the State Investment and State Property Management Committee, Sultan Rahimzoda, the country's industrial opportunities were presented by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir, and the energy opportunities were presented by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Darer Juma. became

The leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the investment and trade authorities of Italy highly assessed the investment potential in Tajikistan.

Besides, management and representatives of "WeBuild" and "Carrera" companies provided detailed information about the experience and activities of Italian companies in Tajikistan to the participants of the Forum.

At the same time, within the framework of the event, bilateral meetings of entrepreneurs of both countries were held in the form of "Entrepreneur-to-entrepreneur" and public-private sector, and trade and investment issues were discussed within them.

The participants of the Forum highly appreciated the organization of this event and decided to hold such events regularly in the future.

Holding such events contributes to the development of economic and commercial cooperation, increasing export power, attracting investment and importing modern technologies, and strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Tajikistan and Italy.

In general, the summit was held at a high organizational level, and within its scope, 

bilateral documents of cooperation worth more than 160 million US dollars were signed.

The documents signed are:

— A cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Industry and New Technology of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Italian company "Marzoli Machinez Textile SRL" in the amount of 100 million US dollars;

- Agreement between the domestic company "Gayur Group" and the Italian  "Sakomi Imola S.K." (Sacomi Imola S.C.) on the issue of setting up a production line of ceramic products, worth 35 million US dollars;

- An agreement between the Tajik company "Greenfoods" and the Italian company 

"Anselmo Impianti Cyril" (Anselmo Impianti Srl) to set up a pasta production line, worth more than 1 million Euros.

Also, on April 23, within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic

 of Tajikistan to the Republic of Italy, the Vice President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and the management of the Football Federation of Italy signed a cooperation protocol on raising the professional level of Tajik football coaches and training football players of the Republic of Tajikistan in Italian football academies.
