  As the summer sun begins its descent and the breeze of autumn sweeps across the Kazakh steppe, Astana will come alive with the spirit of our nomadic ancestors as we host the Fifth World Nomad Games from September 8-13. This event will transform our vibrant capital into a bustling arena of culture, competition, and camaraderie.   For us, these Games are as significant as the Olympics are to the world. They are a testament to the resilience, ingenuity, and traditions of the nomadic cultures. For the world, they are an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the culture and history of nomadic peoples. They offer a unique window into the heritage that has shaped our identity and continues to influence our way of life.

  The Fifth World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan, first held in 2014, will bring together over 2500 participants from around 100 countries. As a country experienced in hosting major global events, Kazakhstan looks forward to welcoming over 100,000 domestic and foreign tourists to celebrate our culture and foster international friendship.

  A key aspect of the World Nomad Games is the preservation of ancient sports and cultural practices. The culture of nomadic peoples has not been widely popularised globally so far. These games will change this by allowing visitors to witness rare sports and become immersed in our traditions. Twenty-one kinds of sports will be on display in Astana, including horse racing, traditional intellectual games, martial arts competitions, national bird hunting, and other folk games.

  One of the most anticipated events is Kokpar, a thrilling and dynamic sport akin to polo, but with a distinctly nomadic twist. Teams on horseback vie for control of a goat carcass, displaying remarkable skill, strength, and strategy. This sport, along with many others featured at the Games, highlights the central role of horses in our culture. They were indispensable companions in daily life, including for migration, warfare, hunting, and trade. Kazakh people hold the distinguished honour of the fact that horses were first domesticated around 5,500 years ago within what is now modern-day Kazakhstan. In fact, horses are considered one of the seven sacred treasures of the Kazakh people. This long-standing bond between Kazakhs and their steeds will be vividly brought to life through the equestrian events at the Games.

  In addition to Kokpar, spectators will be treated to a variety of traditional sports such as archery, wrestling, and eagle hunting. Each sport carries its own historical significance and showcases the diverse skills honed by our ancestors to thrive in the vast and challenging landscapes of Central Asia.

  Moreover, daily cultural events will be held at the unique “Ethnoaul,” where the past will meet the present in a harmonious display of tradition. Here, visitors will be able to marvel at the largest exhibition-fair of Kazakh craftsmanship, where master artisans will display their works and share the secrets of their craft through engaging master classes.

  The festival of national cuisine promises to be a feast for the senses, offering master classes where visitors can learn to prepare traditional Kazakh dishes and beverages, experiencing firsthand the renowned hospitality and warmth of the Kazakh people.

On June 11-13, 2024, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol paid a state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan at the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.On June 12, 2024, the Heads of two states (hereinafter referred to as the Parties) held negotiations in the city of Astana. During the negotiations, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the Parties highly appreciated the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. The Parties exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral practical cooperation.

Political Cooperation: Strengthening Dialogue 1. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev supported the first Strategy for cooperation of the Republic of Korea with the countries of Central Asia “K-Silk ROAD”, announced by the Republic of Korea in June 2024. An agreement has been reached on close cooperation in the implementation of this initiative. 2. The Parties noted the positive dynamics of cooperation within the framework of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Forum. The Parties intend to continue constructive interaction in order to promote bilateral and multilateral projects of the Republic of Korea with the countries of Central Asia.The Heads of the two countries agreed to subsequently work together on the development of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the proposal of President Yoon Suk Yeol to hold the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Summit in 2025. 3. The Parties noted the contribution of both countries to nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation.The Parties agreed to make joint efforts to restore full sovereign equality within the IAEA. The Republic of Korea expressed support for the entry of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the IAEA Far East Group on the conditions that it would not affect its status in the IAEA Board of Governors and related interests. 4. The Parties agreed to continue cooperation in order to strengthen the international non-proliferation regime, including the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). 
In particular, Kazakhstan's various efforts to strengthen and institutionalize the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) were appreciated. 5. The Parties agreed to continue joint efforts to promote confidence-building measures within the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to strengthen peace, stability and trust in the region. The Kazakh side expressed gratitude to the Korean side for supporting the Kazakhstan's chairmanship in CICA in 2022-2024. 6. The Parties agreed that the complete denuclearization of North Korea will contribute to peace and stability not only on the Korean Peninsula, but also in the entire world.The Parties called on North Korea to cease any actions that threaten international peace and security and to fulfill its obligations in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions. The Republic of Kazakhstan expressed support for the Bold Initiative of the Government of the Republic of Korea to create a nuclear-free, peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula and supported a free, peaceful and united Korean Peninsula. The Korean side highly appreciated Kazakhstan's efforts to strengthen cooperation between all existing nuclear-weapon-free zones. 7. The Parties emphasize the importance of global dialogue among religions and cultures, including within the framework of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is a platform to promote the ideas of mutual respect and religious tolerance. 8. The Republic of Kazakhstan highly appreciates the contribution of international organizations based in the Republic of Korea such as the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in responding to climate change and ensuring green growth. 9. The Parties agreed to promote economic and social development in the Central Asian region by facilitating trilateral cooperation between the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Economic Partnership: Mutually Beneficial Projects10. The Parties emphasized that the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation (hereinafter - the Joint Commission) as well as the conclusion of the Trade and Investment Promotion Framework (TIPF) plays an important role in promoting trade and investment between the two countries. It was agreed to further strengthen bilateral trade, investment and practical cooperation through meetings of the Joint Commission and TIPF. 11. The importance of regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation was noted in order to identify prospective areas of trade and economic cooperation and promote joint investment projects. 12. The Parties highly appreciated the arrangement of a Business Forum in Astana on June 12, 2024, which was attended by of business circles of the two countries. They expressed hope that the commercial documents signed during the visit of President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol to the Republic of Kazakhstan would positively contribute to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. 13. The Parties agreed to continue to supply Kazakh uranium to the Republic of Korea and to consider the possibility of increasing its volumes. NAC Kazatomprom JSC continuously monitors public tenders on the official website of the authorized Korean energy company for the supply of natural uranium and intends to participate in tenders in case of such an announcement.Also, in order to maintain partnership relations, NAC Kazatomprom JSC regularly holds negotiations with representatives of the authorized Korean energy company to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation.An agreement was reached on a study of the state of the energy infrastructure and the use of Korean technologies to improve the environmental facilities of the coal industry during the modernization of Kazakh thermal power plants by Korean companies.The Parties noted the importance of continuing cooperation in the purchase of Kazakh crude oil by Korean companies, while using alternative trade routes.The Parties welcome the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea on comprehensive cooperation in the field of electric power.The Parties recognized the need for comprehensive cooperation in the field of mineral resources and the creation of their supply chain. 14. An agreement was reached on joint efforts to implement projects in the field of ecology and combating the consequences of climate change. The Parties intend to explore the possibilities of implementing projects through the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), which is chaired by Kazakhstan for 2024-2026.Efforts to develop cooperation in the fight against forest fires and modernize the Kazakhstan's fire protection systems using high technologies are welcome. 15. The Parties agreed to promote the participation of Korean technologies and companies in the field of water resources, including improving Kazakhstan's water supply system, strengthening water use capabilities through the introduction of water-saving technologies, creating flood protection infrastructure, and improving flood response capabilities through the use of artificial intelligence and ICT technologies. 16. The Parties agreed to develop relationship on the implementation of projects in the field of green energy, including the production of green hydrogen.The Parties welcome the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea on comprehensive cooperation in the field of reducing greenhouse gas emissions based on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.The Parties also emphasized the relevance of the participation of Korean companies in projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 17. The Parties welcome the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea on cooperation in the field of knowledge exchange and development.The memorandum of understanding will help establish cooperative relations for the sustainable economic development of the two countries. The Parties welcome the idea of strengthening economic cooperation based on the Memorandum of Understanding and will carry out joint activities in various ways such as joint research and supporting feasibility studies, depending on the needs of Kazakhstan in the future. 18. The Parties noted the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of banking supervision between the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service of the Republic of Korea.The document will strengthen mutual coordination and contribute to expanding the presence of Korean financial institutions in Kazakhstan. 19. The Parties emphasized the role of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) in attracting Korean investments to Kazakhstan. 20. The Parties noted smart farm technologies as a measure to address climate change and strengthen food security and agreed to cooperate in expanding the entry of Korean companies into the Kazakhstan market, specializing in smart farms and the development of smart agriculture in the two countries.

The Parties believe that the resumption of direct flights between the capitals (Astana - Seoul) and the increase in flights on the Almaty - Seoul route contribute to the intensification of people-to-people ties. 22. The Parties highly appreciate the intensification of cooperation in the field of higher education. The Parties agreed to encourage comprehensive and constant cooperation and expansion of exchange, including academic mobility of students and teachers as well as to develop interaction in the training of highly qualified specialists in technical areas both in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in the Republic of Korea.The Parties support the teaching of the Kazakh language in the Republic of Korea and the Korean language in the Republic of Kazakhstan. 23. The Parties agreed to develop cooperation in the field of science and technology and conduct advanced research as well as strengthen humanitarian exchanges between higher education and scientific and technological institutes.The Parties welcome the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea in the fields of science and technology. 24. The Parties positively noted the positive dynamics in mutual visits by tourists to the two countries and the high potential for developing cooperation in this area. The Parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism as well as to continue to participate in international tourism exchange events organized in the territories of the two countries. 25. The Parties agreed to continue participation in sports exchange events held in the two countries as well as to actively work on establishing cooperation between the sports federations of the two countries. 26. 그런데 부탄 티벳트 등 고산지대에서 생산되는 동충하초의 가격이 말린 것 20g 당 $ 1,100 USD로서 매우 고가이다.
한국에서 이수용박사가 곡물을 배지로 삼아 동충하초를 생산하여 공급하게 되었다. 
다음은 동충하초에 대한 정확한 설명이다.
동충하초는 지구촌의 모든 곤충의 유충, 번데기, 성충, 균생, 균핵, 씨앗 등의 기주에 의해 곤충의 단백질과 독소를 해독 하며 지주 곤충내부에 균사를 채우고 균사가 왕성해지고 주변의 온도와 습도가 알맟으며 자실체 형성을 하는 것이 통상이며 균핵 동충하초는 땅땅속에 균 핵을 형성하고 토양 주변의 광물을 흡수하면서 원툥형의 쌍쌍으로 자라며 온도아 습도가 적당하면 자실체를 형성한다.
  균생 동충하초는 죽은 나무 시채 목이 토양에 묻혀 있는 곳에서 기생하며 죽은 시체 목의 셀로로이스과 같은 영양원 흡수와 토양의 광물질 등을 흡수 시체 목에 균사를 키우고 좌자를 형성하며 주로 방망이 형으로 자실 체를 형성 저낭각을 만들어 성장한다.
따라서 동충하초 종류는 저온성 균류 균과, 중 저온성 균류 균, 고온성 균류로 분리되면 주로 중 고온성의 균류가 기주 곤충의 점유율이 높아 겨울에는 기주 곤충이 균사 속을 채우고 휴면 월동하기에 기주 곤충이 미이라로 보이기 때문에 겨울에는 벌레, 여름이되면 버섯으로 자라난다는 이유로 동충하초라 명하여 사용하게 되었다.

프로젝트에 따르면 타지키스탄 공화국 정부의 지원과 대한민국 '글로벌 솔라 웨이퍼' 기업의 외국인 투자 유치를 통해 4단계에 걸쳐 산업체를 건설하게 되며, 본격적인 시행 이후 이 프로젝트의 4단계에 걸쳐 8,000명 이상의 사람들이 고용될 것이며, 그 중 95%는 타지키스탄 시민이 될 것이다.
이 기업의 활동은 태양광 패널 장비 생산에 중점을 두고 있으며 4단계 투자 금액은 20억 달러다.
유리한 사업 및 투자 환경의 일환으로 당하라 자유 경제 구역 서부에 이 대기업 건설을 위해 22헥타르의 토지가 할당되었으며, 올해 7월 1단계 건설 공사 착공이 계획되어 있다. 
산업 기업의 현대 프로젝트를 발표하는 동안 국가 지도자인 Emomali Rahmon은 건설 작업이 2025년 3월 1단계로 완료될 것이며 그 결과 태양광 패널 장비 제조가 완료될 것이라는 통보를 받았다. 5,000MW 용량이 출시될 예정이다.
이 기업에서 태양광 패널 생산을 시작하면 재생 가능 에너지원으로 발전소를 건설하고 '녹색 에너지' 생산을 위한 대체 용량을 확대함으로써 '녹색 경제' 개발 전략 목표를 달성하는 데 유리한 기반을 제공할 것이다. 2030년까지 최소 1000메가와트까지 늘릴 것이다.

2023년 타지키스탄 공화국과 대한민국 간 무역 금액은 1억 1,610만 달러에 달했다. USD이며 현재 이 나라의 13개 이상의 서비스 및 생산 회사가 타지키스탄에서 운영되고 있다.
우리나라에서는 사업 및 투자 활동 발전을 위해 100가지 이상의 세금 및 관세 혜택과 경감이 제공되어 무역 및 기타 유형의 서비스를 촉진하는 데 도움이 된다.

카자흐스탄 카자흐스탄은 중앙아시아에서 가장 넓은 국토를 가진 나라로, 천혜의 자연경관과 풍부한 자원을 자랑합니다. 수도는 아스타나이며, 전통적인 유목 생활과 현대적인 도시 문화가 공존하는 곳입니다. 특히, 카자흐스탄의 전통 음악과 말 문화는 세계적으로 유명합니다.

키르기스스탄 키르기스스탄은 아름다운 산악 지형과 호수가 특징인 나라입니다. 수도는 비슈케크이며, 유목민의 전통을 잘 유지하고 있는 나라로, 전통 가옥인 '유르트'와 독특한 스포츠인 '콕-보루'가 유명합니다. 또한, 실크로드의 중심지로 역사적인 유적지도 많이 남아 있습니다.

타지키스탄 타지키스탄은 험준한 산악 지형과 아름다운 자연경관을 자랑하는 나라입니다. 수도는 두샨베이며, 고대 페르시아 제국의 영향을 받아 독특한 문화를 형성했습니다. 타지키스탄의 전통 춤과 음악은 매우 화려하며, 다양한 민속 축제가 열렸다.
투르크메니스탄 투르크메니스탄은 광활한 사막과 고대 실크로드의 역사적 유적이 많은 나라입니다. 수도는 아시가바트이며, 독특한 건축물과 전통적인 카펫 문양이 유명합니다. 투르크메니스탄의 문화는 고대부터 현대까지 다양한 시대를 아우르며 발전해왔습니다.

우즈베키스탄 우즈베키스탄은 중앙아시아의 문화와 역사적 중심지로, 실크로드의 주요 거점이었던 나라입니다. 수도는 타슈켄트이며, 사마르칸트, 부하라, 히바 등 세계적으로 유명한 역사 도시들이 있습니다. 우즈베키스탄의 전통 음식과 공예품은 전 세계적으로 사랑받고 있습니다.

On May 23, 2024, the "Africa Day 2024 Business Forum" was successfully held at the Swiss Grand Hotel Convention Center in Seoul's Seodaemun district. This forum aimed to strengthen economic cooperation between Korea and African countries, bringing together numerous economic experts and key figures for in-depth discussions.

Opening Addresses and Congratulatory RemarksThe forum commenced with opening addresses by Choi Jin-young, CEO of Korea Herald Media Group, and Carlos Victor Boungou, Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Korea and Ambassador of Gabon.

Panel DiscussionThe first session focused on "Opportunities and Challenges in the African Market," moderated by Kais Darragi, the Tunisian Ambassador to Korea. The panel discussion included notable participants: Khaled Abdel Rahman, Egyptian Ambassador to Korea; Emikips Oyi, Kenyan Ambassador to Korea; Hong Soon-young, Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of Korea; Professor Shammah Judex Gaounda from Yonsei University; Lee Kwang-bok, Director at Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation; and Kim Young-sang, Team Leader at Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. They explored the potential and challenges of the African market from various perspectives.

Celebration Performances and Special SessionThe second part of the event featured celebration performances by the Africa Dance Company-TAGG and the Little Angels Art Troupe, with their ensemble and traditional fan dance receiving great applause from the attendees.

Following this, there were congratulatory remarks from Kim Hong-kyun, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Jung Won-joo, Chairman of Herald Corporation, Daewoo Engineering & Construction, and the Korea Housing Builders Association. 

They highlighted the roles of government and private sectors in enhancing cooperation with Africa. 

After a commemorative photo session, a special session titled "Future Aspirations of Korea-Africa Young Talents" was held, where youth from both regions shared their hopes and visions for future cooperation.

Closing and FarewellThe event concluded with a final celebration performance by the Africa Dance Company-TAGG, followed by a dinner and closing remarks.
