Congratulatory remarks by Ambassador of Egypt to Korea Khaled Aldel Rahman

The Embassy of Egypt in South Korea celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution with a National Day reception. The event took place on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Egyptian Embassy located at 114, Dokseodang-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Hosted by Ambassador Khaled Abdel Rahman, the reception featured esteemed guest speakers Professor Chammah J. Kaunda and Mr. Min-Kyu Lee, who honored the occasion with their presence and insightful speeches. 

The July 23 Revolution marks a pivotal moment in modern Egyptian history. On July 23, 1952, a military coup led to the abolition of the monarchy and the establishment of the republic, laying the foundation for contemporary Egypt. The reception highlighted this significant historical event and showcased Egypt's rich culture and traditions through a variety of programs. 

The event was attended by diplomats, key figures from both South Korea and Egypt, and other distinguished guests who enjoyed traditional Egyptian music and dance performances, offering a glimpse into the country's vibrant cultural heritage. Additionally, an exhibition featuring Egypt's major tourist attractions and cultural heritage sites received enthusiastic responses from attendees. 

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Khaled Abdel Rahman stated, "Today we commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, celebrating Egypt's independence and sovereignty. South Korea and Egypt share a long-standing friendship, and we look forward to further strengthening our cooperation in the future." 

Guest speakers Professor Chammah J. Kaunda and Mr. Min-Kyu Lee addressed the historical significance of Egypt and the importance of cultural exchange between the two nations, reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship and collaboration.

The reception served as a platform to fortify the economic, cultural, and diplomatic relations between Egypt and South Korea. The Egyptian Embassy in South Korea pledged to continue its efforts to promote mutual understanding and cooperation for the benefit and peace of both countries.
